SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process will consist of two Calls. The applications will be reviewed in a “first come first served” basis, until all spots are full. 

 

Application Deadlines: 

 

1st Call Deadline: Sunday, July 30th, 11.59pm (Chilean time) 

2nd Call Deadline: Sunday, August 13th, 11.59 pm (Chilean Time)

Candidates will be informed of the result of their application by e-mail.

​
 

Interested applicants should fill out this APPLICATION FORM on-line where they will select the category to which they are applying, depending on their technical and musical ability. 

 

These are the requirements for the application:  

​

  1. CV (1 page max.)

  2. Letter of motivation (1 page max., further instructions in the application form)

  3. Video 1: performance, without accompaniment, of one or more works free of choice (duration 5 to 10 min.)

  4. Video 2: performance of the orchestral excerpts that correspond to the level to which the applicant is auditioning. 

  • Professional Level (Ysaÿe): excerpts from "Souvenir de Florence" by Tchaikovsky.

  • Advanced Level (Vieuxtemps): excerpts from  Serenade for Strings Op.20 by Elgar.

  • Intermediate Level (De Bériot): excerpts from "Don Quixote Suite" byTelemann.

  • Professional Level (Ysaÿe): excerpts from "Souvenir de Florence" by Tchaikovsky.

  • Advanced Level (Vieuxtemps): excerpts from  Serenade for Strings Op.20 by Elgar.

VIDEO RECORDING INSTRUCTIONS

  • The candidate should stand 2 metres away from the camera, so that their shot never cuts off. Ensuring a high audio and video quality is of utmost importance. 

  • The candidate should upload the videos to YouTube on Public Access. Then, they must share the link on the Application Form, making sure each video is labelled as follows: Huilo Huilo Music Festival - Name of the Applicant - Instrument
